About TaxCon
Technology is becoming part of more tax practice decisions, but it is not always easy to know what is useful, what is risky or where to start.
TaxCon 2026 is a virtual event led by tax professionals to help you understand how technology fits into your tax practice. You’ll learn how practitioners are approaching AI, automation, workflow changes and client service decisions with professional judgment at the center.
Learn before you choose the tools
What makes this event different is our focus on education. Sessions are designed to help you understand practical use cases, compliance considerations and the role of practitioner oversight in a technology-assisted practice.
You’ll learn how to map your workflow before choosing technology, then we help you explore solutions from companies serving the tax profession.
What's included with registration
Event registration includes access to all three days of TaxCon. CPE is available for qualifying live education sessions. To receive credit, you must watch the qualifying session live and respond to at least 3 of the 4 polling questions launched during each credit hour. CPE is not available for recorded sessions.
After the event, you’ll receive access to session recordings, including solution demos, along with instructor slides. Recordings and materials will be available through April 2027.
Cancellation policy
A refund for the event, minus a $25 processing fee, will be given for cancellations received by Nov. 25. No refunds will be granted for requests received after this date. Please note that refunds will not be given for no-shows. Registration substitutions are accepted, provided the transferee pays any applicable fee difference.
FAQs
Know what to expect from your TaxCon experience
-
Not exactly. TaxCon includes sessions on AI, but the event is broader than that. It is designed to help tax professionals understand how technology can support their work, where caution is needed and how to make better decisions before choosing new tools.
-
No. TaxCon is designed as an education-first event. Most education sessions are presented by tax practitioners, not vendors or sponsors, so attendees can focus on practical guidance before evaluating solutions.
One security-focused session will be presented by Verito, as the topic requires specialized IT expertise. Solution demos will take place on Day 3, providing attendees with a dedicated space to explore products after the education sessions.
During the event, NATP may point attendees to solutions that relate to the topics being discussed, but the education sessions are not sponsored. -
TaxCon is designed for tax professionals who want to better understand technology in tax practice. It's a good fit if you are curious about AI or automation, cautious about client data and compliance, or trying to decide which tools make sense for your firm.

Yes. Credit is available for qualifying education sessions attended live. To receive credit, you must attend the live session and answer at least three of the four polling questions launched during each credit hour. Recorded sessions do not qualify for credit.
Credit type varies by session. Some sessions qualify for IRS-approved CE for enrolled agents and AFSP participants, while others qualify only for NASBA CPE for CPAs. Each session detail page will show which credit is available.
